When does my BMW need servicing?

With most cars, the service intervals are fixed based solely on the distance covered. Your BMW has a far more sophisticated system that actually takes into account your driving style and the demands placed on your car. For example, frequent, stop/start driving where the engine does not reach full operating temperature places more strain on the engine than longer journeys at a consistent speed.

Every BMW is fitted with a Service Interval Indicator, which will tell you when a service is required. On some of the newer models, the distance to the next service is displayed when starting the car. This counts down in steps towards the next service. On previous models a series of green LED's in the instrument cluster go out one by one until an amber light comes on. With both systems the words "Oil Service or "Inspection" will be displayed advising you which service is due.

What type of service is required?

The Service Interval Indicator (See question 3) will advise you what type of service is required.

A typical service cycle is:
- Oil service
- Inspection I
- Oil service
- Inspection II

The service schedules for each model vary. If you would like detailed model specific information, please refer to your service booklet. Alternatively, please call any of our centres.

If you use your BMW infrequently, BMW recommend you have your car serviced once a year to ensure it maintains its optimum performance.

Is my car cleaned after service or repair?

All cars serviced by Performance Motors are washed. On the interior, we vacuum all the carpets and clean the inside of the windscreen. This is carried out as a complimentary service.

What other facilities do you offer regarding servicing?

We offer a collection and delivery service for cars booked in for service or repair. There is a nominal fee for this service. We want to offer a quality service in this area. To help us, please make your request for collection during the booking process. We are also pleased to make a taxi reservation for you.

We can take your car for inspection by the LTA or VICOM as and when required. There will be a nominal fee for this service.

With our Night-drop off service, you can leave your car with us at any time of the night using our secured key point.

Can the same Customer Service Adviser who served me on my last visit, serve me on subsequent visits?

Yes. Whilst we want to offer an efficient service, we don't want you to feel as though you are simply being processed. We recognise the personal element is very important in serving customers and establishing a rapport makes the experience more enjoyable. Please ask at the time of making your reservation.

Where do I send my BMW if I have an accident or need estimate for body repairs?

Naturally, one of the reasons you drive a BMW is that you appreciate the finer qualities that only specialist companies like BMW and Performance Motors can bring to car ownership. We want to help you return your car to its original factory condition. To do this, Performance Motors has invested in modern facilities, tools and equipment, specified by BMW. Furthermore, our staff have been trained in BMW approved repair techniques.

What is BMW Mobile Service?

It is a unique service available only to owners of BMW cars which are within 10 years from their date of registration and sold by Performance Mototrs Limited- the sole distributor of BMW cars in Singapore. The BMW Mobile Service offers you an extensive range of benefits that is designed to afford assistance and protection to you, your passengers and your BMW in the event of a motoring emergency. It is one element of our commitment to offering innovative and industry leading products and services.

What do I do when I need assistance?

If you are in any doubt as to whether you require roadside assistance, please telephone BMW Mobile Service Center first. Do not make your own arrangements without first contacting BMW Mobile Service Centre. Contact BMW Mobile Service at 62923166.

When calling, you should be prepared to provide:

  • Your name and location of your vehicle.
  • The BMW model of your vehicle- automatic or manual transmission.
  • A telephone number where you can be contacted.
  • The registration number and colour of your vehicle.
  • A brief description of the problem.
  • Proof of ownership, if requested.

What are the benefits of BMW Mobile Service?

  • Home and roadside assistance
In the event your vehicle is immobilised, BMW Mobile Service will arrange assistance for you. Whenever practical, we will always endeavour to arrange for the problem to be resolved at the scene of immobilisation. However if the problem encountered by your vehicle can not be resolved at the scene of immobilisation, we will organise and pay for the recovery of your vehicle to the BMW Service Center nearest to your home address or nearest to the scene of immobilisation, whichever is your choice.
All BMW vehicles within 3 years from the date of first registration are further entitled to the following additional benefits:
  • Onward Travel
If your vehicle is sent to the BMW Service Centre for repairs following our assistance, we will whenever possible, organise and pay for the transport costs of bringing you to your immediate destination.
  • Vehicle redelivery
If your vehicle has been recovered under the BMW Mobile Service plan, we will arrange for it to be returned to your home address. Alternatively, if you wish to collect your vehicle personally, we will pay the appropriate transport costs to enable you to do so.
  • Adverse weather conditions
On those occasions, where adverse weather conditions such as floods, heavy rain, thunder or lighting make it physically impossible for roadside repair or vehicle recovery to be carried out until the weather improves our main priority will be to ensure that you and your passengers are taken to a place of safety.
  • Lock out keys
Whilst we will always endeavour to provide assistance by the most efficient method, modern security systems sometimes make it extremely difficult for us to gain entry into your vehicle should spare keys not be available. If a forced entry is required, you will be asked to sign a declaration stating that you have given permission for this to take place and confirming that all costs relating to any resulting damage to your vehicle will be your sole responsibility.

Am I able to transfer my BMW Mobile Service membership to others?

The BMW Mobile Service membership is not transferable from vehicle to vehicle but is transferable from one owner to the subsequent owner of the same vehicle.
